December 03: The Fall

Reading: Genesis 3
“I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and hers.” (Genesis 3:15)
Adam and Eve broke the covenant with God by rejecting Him through sin, and in the process, they unleashed evil, sickness, suffering and death into the world. We call that decision to abandon God’s will in favor of their own Original Sin, and it created the fallen state in which we currently find ourselves.
Even as Adam and Eve reject God, He continues to love them. When He curses the serpent, we already see the beginning of His saving plan to bring us back into loving union with Him.
